1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Qubit Browser, a Chromium-based browser product developed by Vkrm. It applies to the browser app, this legal site, and support communications you choose to send to Vkrm in connection with Qubit Browser.
This policy does not replace the policies of websites, search engines, extension developers, app stores, operating system vendors, payment processors, content providers, or other third parties you choose to use through the browser. Those parties may process your information under their own terms and privacy notices.
2. Key points
- Qubit Browser stores core browsing data locally on your device, such as history, cookies, cache, downloads, bookmarks, settings, and other browser state.
- When you visit websites or use web services, those parties may receive network and browser information such as your IP address, device details, cookies, and requested URLs.
- Security, update, distribution, and safety features may make network requests to Vkrm, Google, your app store, or other providers depending on your build, device, and settings.
- If you enable certain browser settings, Qubit Browser may send app interactions, crash or diagnostic information, search- or page-related URL data, or location-linked requests to Google, search providers, security providers, or other third parties that support those features.
- Vkrm does not sell your personal data.
- If you contact support or share reports, Vkrm may use the information you provide to diagnose, support, secure, and improve Qubit Browser.
3. Data we handle directly
Depending on how you use the browser, Vkrm may handle limited categories of data directly, including:
- support information you send to us, such as emails, messages, screenshots, attachments, crash details, or compatibility reports;
- technical crash or error information stored locally on your device and later shared with us by you;
- website or feature feedback you voluntarily provide;
- records needed to respond to abuse, fraud, security incidents, or legal obligations.
Qubit Browser does not require a Vkrm account for ordinary browsing. If Vkrm later introduces optional account-linked services, those services may be governed by additional notices.
4. Websites, search providers, and third-party services
Qubit Browser is a tool for connecting you to the web. When you open a website, use a search engine, stream media, translate a page, sign into a web app, submit a form, sync with a website, or interact with embedded content, the relevant third party may receive information such as:
- your IP address and approximate region;
- browser and device information;
- requested URLs and referring pages;
- cookies and site storage identifiers;
- permission grants you approve, such as location or camera.
Vkrm does not control how those third parties process your data. Their own contracts and privacy policies apply.
Depending on your permissions and settings, this can include approximate or precise location sent to a default search provider or other service you choose to use, and URL-based requests needed for features such as contextual search, search suggestions, security checks, or related browser functionality.
5. Security, update, and platform requests
To function safely and remain up to date, Qubit Browser and the platform it runs on may make network requests for security, integrity, update, and compatibility purposes. Depending on your build, device, and settings, this can include:
- app update and package integrity checks;
- security reputation or safe-browsing style lookups;
- component or configuration downloads;
- certificate, networking, or compatibility validation;
- optional usage statistics, diagnostics, and crash reports;
- optional URL-keyed browser feature requests and security checks;
- device, browser, install, or app identifiers used for updates or distribution;
- distribution services provided by an app store or device vendor.
Some of these requests may be handled by Google, your device vendor, your mobile OS, your app store, or other service providers rather than by Vkrm directly.
6. Permissions and device access
Qubit Browser may request device access when needed for a feature or when a website requests it and you choose to allow it. Examples include:
- camera and microphone for calls, uploads, and recording;
- location for websites that request your location and, if enabled, for certain search or browser-assistance features;
- notifications for permitted sites or browser events;
- files, photos, media, clipboard, or downloads access;
- autofill, passwords, or saved payment-related data if enabled.
Whether a website receives data from those permissions depends on your choices, your system settings, and the browser’s permission controls.
Some permissions and browser settings are optional. For example, you can deny location access, turn off usage and crash reporting where that setting is offered, or disable URL-keyed browser data collection settings such as "Make searches and browsing better" where available in your build.
7. Data stored on your device
Most normal browser activity is stored locally on your device, not on Vkrm’s servers. This may include:
- browsing history and open tabs;
- cookies, cache, and site storage;
- downloads and download history;
- bookmarks, preferences, shortcuts, and appearance settings;
- saved passwords, autofill entries, and site permissions;
- extension data and local browser diagnostics.
You can manage much of this data through browser and Android system settings. Clearing data, uninstalling the app, or resetting features may remove some or all locally stored information.
8. Support, crash logs, and reports
Qubit Browser may retain technical crash information locally on the device to help with troubleshooting. If you choose to send support emails, crash logs, compatibility reports, or screenshots, Vkrm may use them to:
- diagnose crashes and functional problems;
- investigate website compatibility issues;
- fix bugs and improve security or reliability;
- respond to abuse, fraud, or misuse.
Support communications may contain personal information depending on what you send. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive data.
In some builds, Qubit Browser may also offer optional settings to send usage statistics, app interactions, crash reports, or other diagnostics to Google or another provider to improve reliability, security, and browser features. Those settings are separate from the local crash information that remains on your device unless you or the browser chooses to transmit it.
9. Extensions and experimental features
If you enable extensions, experimental features, developer tooling, or other non-standard capabilities, those components may create additional network requests, request permissions, or store extra data on your device. Extensions and third-party add-ons may operate under their own privacy practices and permissions. Vkrm is not responsible for third-party extension behavior.
10. Legal bases for processing
Where privacy laws require a legal basis, Vkrm generally relies on one or more of the following depending on context:
- your consent, for example when you choose to contact support or share diagnostics;
- performance of a service you requested, such as providing core browser functionality;
- Vkrm’s legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving Qubit Browser;
- compliance with legal obligations.
12. Retention
Local browsing data usually remains on your device until you clear it, replace it through normal browser operation, or uninstall the app. Support emails, issue reports, and related records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, documentation, and legal compliance. Some records may need to be kept for abuse prevention, security investigations, or legal obligations even if you stop using the app.
13. International transfers
If you contact Vkrm or use third-party services through Qubit Browser, information may be processed in countries other than your own. Different jurisdictions may apply different privacy and data protection standards.
14. Your choices and rights
Most Qubit Browser data is controlled locally on your device or by third-party websites and services rather than by Vkrm. Qubit Browser does not currently provide a general account-based or in-app deletion-request workflow for server-side browser data. Many browser-side choices can instead be managed in-app or at the device level.
- clear browsing data and site storage;
- manage site permissions;
- turn optional usage and crash reporting settings on or off where available;
- turn optional URL-keyed browser data collection settings on or off where available;
- remove downloads, bookmarks, passwords, and saved entries;
- disable or remove extensions or experimental features;
- contact Vkrm with privacy questions about data Vkrm directly handles.
If data was provided to or created by a website, search engine, extension, app store, device vendor, or other third party, you will usually need to use that third party's own controls, account tools, or privacy process to manage or delete it.
15. Children
Qubit Browser is not directed to children below the age at which consent or parental authorization is required in their jurisdiction. If you believe personal information from a child was sent directly to Vkrm, contact us so we can review and respond.
16. Changes to this policy
Vkrm may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted here, unless a later date is stated.
